The Propulsion element cradles the rear foot and extends forward to guide the foot into a neutral position thought the gait cycle. The carbon fiber “Slingshot” plate provides torsional stability, keeping the foot in alignment, and helps to reduce impact pressure. Amazingly Comfortable! These X-GPS feel so cushioned and supportive – my podiatrist says they are some of the best shoes he’s ever seen!
Took a little work to get my size right but the return process was easy. I’ve retired my Hokas and just about everything else I’ve been wearing in favor of these!

Pros: solid foundation, nice blend between firm and soft which is optimal for foot issues, not much flex rotationally or at ball of foot which again is great for people with foot problems, toe box is roomy to allow toe splay, nice amount of rocker for those that stand and walk but not too much rocker like a true running shoe, comfortable fabric in forefoot and mid foot, neutral shoe to allow your orthotics to do their job, good grip/sole
Cons: US sizing is large depending on what brand you normally wear, the EU sizing is correct but Xelero didn’t have that posted on their website when I purchased my shoes; the heel cup (back of heel) is horrible in my opinion – not enough cushion, causes blisters and rubbing, not the right shape, extremely stiff; very expensive
I started with a size 10 but returned them for a size smaller, which was the correct sizing for me (I wear a 10 in Brooks and New Balance, but a size 9.5 in Hoka so these shoes are sized similar to Hoka). Unfortunately I’m stuck with a very expensive pair of shoes I can’t wear (the tag ripped off on me in the house and Xelero has a very strict return policy) that do not work because of the heel cup/ back of shoe. I finally found a very similar shoe that does work for me and is cheaper in the Hoka Gaviota 5. The Xelero X-GPS shoe feels very similar to a Brooks Ariel/Beast or New Balance 1540. I would try them first if you do NOT need the extra depth that the Xelero X-GPS offers to accommodate extremely deep/tall orthotics or leg length discrepancies.
